Anadolu Medical Center

Healthcare UX Transformation & Stakeholder-Centric Design
While at Userspots, I worked for the responsive digital transformation for Anadolu Medical Center, a premier healthcare institution affiliated with Johns Hopkins Medicine. This project required a high-touch service design approach, balancing the critical needs of patients with the operational requirements of medical staff and the strategic goals of the hospital board. I focused on creating a dignified, accessible, and technically robust platform that mirrors the center’s world-class medical standards.
Challenge
Healthcare ecosystems are inherently complex, involving diverse user groups with vastly different priorities, from patients in high-stress situations to doctors requiring rapid access to data.
The Problem: The existing digital presence was not fully responsive and lacked the intuitive navigation necessary to serve a multi-stakeholder environment effectively.
The Goal: Build a responsive, accessible and user-friendly platform that simplifies access to care for patients while streamlining administrative and medical workflows for staff.
Insights
To align the digital experience with the rigorous standards of a Johns Hopkins affiliate, I spearheaded an extensive research phase:
Multi-Stakeholder Research: Conducted in-depth interviews and workshops with patients, doctors, hospital staff and the board to map unique needs and pain points.
Patient Journey Mapping: Analysed the emotional and functional stages of the patient journey, from initial symptom search to post-treatment follow-ups.
Accessibility Benchmarking: Evaluated the interface against global healthcare accessibility standards to ensure the platform was usable for individuals with varying levels of digital literacy or physical limitations.
Action
I implemented a data-driven design strategy that focused on clarity, technical literacy and cross-functional synergy:
Inclusive UX Wireframing: Designed a navigation architecture that offers quick-access paths for urgent patient needs (e.g., “Find a Doctor,” “Online Appointment”) while maintaining separate portals for staff efficiency.
Technical Collaboration: Worked in tight synchronisation with the development teams to ensure that the responsive design was optimised for performance across all devices and integrated seamlessly with the hospital’s backend systems.
Prototyping & Validation: Developed high-fidelity prototypes that were tested with actual patients and staff, allowing for iterative refinements based on real-world usability data.
UI/UX Harmony: Created a clean, trustworthy visual identity that balances the center’s professional authority with a compassionate, patient-first aesthetic.
Impact
The launch of the new responsive website significantly elevated Anadolu Medical Center’s digital maturity:
Improved Patient Access: The intuitive appointment and information flow led to a measurable increase in online booking efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Operational Efficiency: Provided hospital staff with a more streamlined digital environment, reducing the time spent on manual administrative tasks.
Technical Excellence: Successfully delivered a fully responsive platform that met all rigorous design specifications and security requirements for healthcare data.
Brand Alignment: Strengthened the institution’s global standing by providing a digital experience that reflects its affiliation with Johns Hopkins Medicine and its commitment to innovation.
